6 Adults, primary diagnosis of mental retardation, Age 18 & above, ambulatory, male or female, capable of obtaining a “certificate of self preservation” (able to respond to fire alarm), requiring 24 hour supervision but not requiring 24 hour nursing, participating/willing to participate in a full time day program.
Population we are currently serving:
Adults in their 40’s-60’s, both male
and female, able to ambulate independently, able
to exit to fire alarm with minimal intervention,
able to function with a minimum staff to resident
ratio of 1 staff to 6 consumers and a maximum
ratio of 1 staff to 3 consumers, able to function
with a 1:6 staff to resident ratio during sleeping
hours (with that employee being awake), all current
consumers very active in their community both
socially and recreationally, current residents
do not exhibit violent, abusive, or aggressive
behaviors and are not sexually active, current
residents are vulnerable to housemates who would
engage in such behaviors.
